Day/Date change… We are starting out quilting group back up. We will be meeting the second Monday of every month. It will at my church in the Fellowship hall. All are more then welcome to come. We meet as a group to work on our own individual projects and help each other if we need it. There are no dues/fees. Occasionally we have BOM’s or some special thing we due (like baby quilts for Carenet) but not too often. We will probably be working on a stained glass project in the near future so if you are interested in fabric stained glass this might be for you.

Beacon Senior Center

We meet every Tuesday afternoon and work on a variety of projects. Starting in September we will be working on quilts for the fire department. Our goal is to make 10 of them before the end of October. If you have some spare time and would like to be part of this please come to Beacon. If you have never quilted before this is the class for you because I will teach you at your own pace without a time restraint. This class is free for seniors (you must be 55 years or older) and you should live within Tacoma city limits.

Blockade Tablerunner

Really nice tablerunner from Pieced Tree Patterns. This one is 12″ x 42″ and as you can see you can make it as long or short as you would like. This runner looks great made with two colors or a different color group for each section. I even used some fun fur yarn to add a little pizazz. $25.00

Great beginners quilt with off-center log cabin blocks and four different colors going from light to dark. I will show you some quick and easy cutting tips and how to piece the quilt properly using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Fun quick quilt. Top can be cut and sewn in a few hours. Really. $40.00

Curves But No Curves

This class doesn’t seem to get old. You keep asking and I will keep teaching. Curves are really simple when done with no set in seams. You will enjoy this quick and easy method. Make this quilt with one or two main colors or make it scrappy. Make sure you see the sample in the shop. $25.00

Double Wedding Ring

This classic quilt will be done in no time at all using the English Paper Piecing method. A needle and thread to get the shapes all made and put together then applique it on a background by hand or machine. $25.00

Gone Vertical

My newest pattern Gone Vertical is a fun and quick quilt to put togegther. Use charm squares for the main part of the block or fussy cut a fabulous fabric , then use it again in the sashing and border. The blocks are put together with a half-square triangle not a Y seam. If you need the quilt to be bigger then make the sashing and/or the border bigger or make extra rows. The quilt can be made with or without a first border. 62″ x 78-1/2″ or 58″ x 74-1/2″ There are two samples ast the shop. One in Batiks (I made that one) and one with florals (my sister pieced that one). They both look great.

Introduction to Applique

This is an introduction to applique class. I will show you four different types of applique and two different stitches while making a heart wall hanging. If you have never appliqued before, this is the class you should take to pick the proper method for the specific applique project you would like to make. $25.00

Lighthouse Senior Center

We meet every Thursday. The morning class meets from 9:30 – 11:30 and afternoon class meets from 12:30 -2:30 and work on a variety of projects. Everyone works on his or her own specific project. Mirror Image Tablerunner

This is a very nice quick tablerunner to make (with triangles) for a gift or to keep for yourself. Make it without binding and be done in a short afternoon or put the binding on and be done in one day. Yes really. Make it longer or shorter depending on your needs. $25.00

Shop Hop Blocks

Did you go on Shop Hop in years past? What are you going to do with all of those blocks? Do you know how to put them together? I know that there are some blocks that can be a little challenging? That is why we decided to make a class on how to put the blocks together. So bring your blocks, extra fabric and basic sewing supplies and join us for a few hours of fun and piecing. Make a few copies of the foundation paper piecing blocks patterns so that you do not use the original copy. $25.00

Two by Two quilts

This is a fun quilt to make because it is made with NO PINS. Yeah. This is a really simple technique. If the fabric is at least 42” wide you will be able to get two quilts. One quilt the 72” x 81” and one quilt 36” x 40-1/2”. From the fabrics listed in the requirements you will get to make both quilts. $25.00

Wonky Trees

These Wonky Trees are a great foundation pieced wall hanging or valance. Make it as long as you would like or shorten it for a table topper. A tree that is “Wonky” is tilted and slightly crooked. They really do look neat. If you are new to foundation piecing then this is a great class to learn the method and then watch out there will be nothing to stop you. $25.00
